Project Biomass Gas
This past year I lead 5 mechanical engineering students in the development of a Biomass power plant.
This form of renewable energy is largely untapped by industry due to the affordability of fossil fuels. Fortunately this trend is expected to change soon.
Meet AC/DC High Voltage
This three ton tower of machinery breaks organic material (Biomass) into fundamental molecular building blocks, producing explosive gases.
To produce electricity, AC/DC burns these gases within a modified internal combustion engine.
Completely Automated
Control
With a push of a button our prototype will supply continuous power with minimal human interaction. To do this our machine needed to be smart, so we installed some brains.
This automated system is comprised of a Programmable Logic Controller (top left electrical box) and an Arduino Micro Controller. This computer technology is accompanied with a vast array of sensors allowing for data accusation and control.
Conference Tables
In collaboration with Jason Aarstad, owner of a co working office space and fellow mechanical engineer, several epic conference tables have come to life. If you are after a table that will pull your team together you have come to the right place.
Architectural Railings
